Black Ambition creates the space and conditions for Black and Hispanic entrepreneurs to excel, uninterrupted. Through two separate annual Prize competitions, Black Ambition invests capital and resources in high-growth startups founded by Black and Hispanic entrepreneurs innovating across consumer products and services, media and entertainment, healthcare, technology and Web 3.0. At Black Ambition, we see a future where ideas flourish, pathways to success are elevated, and more Black and Hispanic entrepreneurs are better positioned to build generational wealth as we further our mission of closing the racial wealth gap.
This year, we received several thousand applications across our General and HBCU Prize tracks. The applicant pools were extremely competitive. With support from expert business leaders, VCs and seasoned entrepreneurs, we were able to evaluate every application to identify the top 249 semifinalists. Semifinalists advance in the Prize competition and remain in consideration for financial awards. These founders will receive a variety of curated support services over the next few months, including participation in the Black Ambition Mentor program powered by Cinematica Labs. The 3-month program unlocks strategic relationships, programming, and tools that promote company growth, resilient networks, and founder well-being.

Black Ambition
Black Ambition empowers Black and Hispanic innovators and communities to excel, uninterrupted. Founded by Pharrell Williams in 2020, Black Ambition provides founders scaling ventures in consumer products and services, media and entertainment, healthcare, technology and Web 3.0 with access to capital and a variety of supportive resources.
During the inaugural Prize cycle in 2021, Black Ambition awarded $3.2M in funding support to 34 founders and supported an additional 250 entrepreneurs with mentorship to strengthen their ventures. Since the 2021 Prize competition, Black Ambition founders have gone on to collectively raise over $50M.
