About Black Ambition
Black Ambition was launched by Pharrell Williams in 2020 to close the opportunity and wealth gap in America through entrepreneurship. Black Ambition invests capital and resources in high-growth startups founded by Black, Hispanic and HBCU-affiliated entrepreneurs pursuing ventures in tech, media and entertainment, healthcare, Web 3.0 and consumer products and services.
Black Ambition hosts two prize competitions – one focused on Black and Hispanic entrepreneurs and the second focused on Black and Hispanic scholars at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). To date, 65 founders have been awarded prizes ranging from $15K to $1M and 750 founders have received high-impact mentorship. The 3rd annual Black Ambition Prize competition launched on March 1, 2023 and will culminate on November 9, 2023 in NYC. Throughout the prize competition, participants receive access to online resources on entrepreneurship, group and individual mentor opportunities, and coaching to develop pitches.
